The Lexus GX550 Front Hybrid Bumper is finished in wrinkled black powder coat, and TIG welded with 3/16-inch high-strength steel to ensure durability, providing an extra layer of protection, increased clearance and approach angle (around 5°), while replacing the lower plastic valance. A lightweight aluminum version in silver (middle bumper only) is also available.
The Hybrid Bumper stands for a metal bumper that doesn’t require cutting or trimming, while still providing extra protection. It is for mild to medium off-road usage, and it doesn’t replace the OEM crash bar/bumper beam, making it a hybrid bumper, and not a full metal bumper. It does not relate to the powertrain of your vehicle. The Hybrid Bumper is a 3-piece modular design, and it will allow two dual pod LED lights (Baja Designs S2) on each side. Block off plates are also included if no LED lights are mounted.
The Front Recovery Points (which the Hybrid Bumper mounts to) are finished in black or red powder coat, and made with 5/8 inch high-strength steel to ensure durability. These front recovery points allow you to mount any standard 3/4 inch D-rings, or soft shackles for emergency off-road recovery. They mount directly to the main rail as well as the bumper beam (replacing the OEM brackets), providing protection to the OEM bumper and recovery towing points.Â
Working Load Limit 11,000 lbs. when using a bridle. The Hybrid Bumper does not affect or alter the safety standards of the vehicle.Â
All necessary mounting hardware included. The installation DOES NOT require the removal of the bumper cover from the vehicle. NYTOP recommends the use of a bridle while using these recovery points in off-road situations.
